Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…
Seriously though…now that I have Julie Andrews lovely voice stuck in your head, I thought it would be fun to share a few things I’ve been loving lately so here goes!
1) Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant – Bergamot Lime Scent
I’ve tried a lot of natural deodorants and have to admit it’s not easy finding one that works! It’s actually one of the hardest things to switch in a clean beauty routine, but also one of the most important so please don’t give up! I’m really loving Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in the Bergamot Lime Scent. Not only is the scent super refreshing, it also works. I suppose summer will be the true test of this deodorant, but so far it’s a winner!
Before having my son I used to journal every morning without fail. It was a part of my morning routine that I really looked forward to. My mornings have obviously changed quite a bit lately and I abandoned journaling for a long time, but now I’m making it a priority again! As soon as Cyrus falls asleep for his first nap, I pull out the journal and these notebooks from Chapters Indigo are my favourite! They come in so many cute designs that make me look forward to my journaling routine.
3) No Bake Peanut Butter Coconut Bites
Being a mom to an 11 month old is no joke. He’s crawling and standing so keeping him out of trouble is a full-time job. I need quick & easy snacks to keep up my energy during the day and these peanut butter bites are the perfect treat. They are also easy to make, portable, delicious and energy-boosting.
Have you heard of Beautycounter? This is a company seriously dedicated to safer skincare and beauty! Not only are their products luxurious and high performing, they also follow strict safety guidelines and advocate for major change at the legislative level (more on Beautycounter coming up so stay tuned).
I recently started using the Beautycounter mascara and it’s everything I look for in a mascara. The ingredient list is clean, it’s long lasting and also smudge/cry-proof…hello Grey’s Anatomy (why is that show such a tear-jerker?!) I love the thin wand and ability to layer it for super long and luscious lashes.
5) Mellifera Bees Honey Infusions
Every year I go to the One of a Kind Show in Toronto because it’s the perfect place to find unique gifts and check out local artisans. The display for Mellifera bees caught my eye with its beautiful simplicity and branding, so I knew that I had to give their honey a try. I bought a jar of both the ginger infused and cardamom infused honey and
I’ve been loving them! They taste amazing in tea and drizzled over granola.
6) FitGlow Mineral Blush in Cheeky
Fitglow Beauty is a Canadian company that’s all about plant based ingredients with a purpose. I was already a huge fan of the Vita-Active Foundation, so decided to give the blush a try. It comes in 5 different shades and I chose Cheeky to match my complexion. It’s highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way and it’s the perfect pop of colour for Spring. If you’re in the market for a new blush, I definitely recommend giving FitGlow a try!
